Young Colne riders were in the prizes at the first horse show organised at Buckstone Equestrian Centre by students from Craven College.
Max Berry (13) and Chloe Sedgwick (15), who are both students at Park High School, Colne, and live in the town, ride at the busy Cowling riding school and livery yard.
The show was the first organised entirely by horse management students at Craven College as part of an end-of-year project.
Some 22 students, aged 16 to 18, were in charge on the day after 12 weeks of intense preparation, including finding sponsors and judges and borrowing extra equipment.
Max was riding Kandi and Chloe was riding Magic in several classes, including showjumping.
“Buckstone is our official outreach centre,” said Craven College lecturer Debbie Ogden. “We come here to ride every week and the facilities lend themselves perfectly. Sue runs a fabulous yard and it won’t be the last time we hold a competition here, we hope. These students have really set the benchmark for others to follow!”
