What an amazing month June will be for Burnley and a chance to show how big-hearted we can be, despite the recession.
On Sunday, the streets will resound to the sound of 1,500-plus pairs of feet pounding their way round the Pennine 10K course. Runners young and old, fit and not-so-fit, will be tackling the course in memory of Jane Tomlinson, raising around £150,000 for charities.
Just days later, the streets will come alive again as hundreds of women burn the midnight oil to take part in Pendleside Hospice’s Midnight Walk.
And, finally, on June 16th, comes the popular Race For Life around Towneley Park for Cancer Research.
