Tributes have been pouring in for a former Pendle schoolgirl who has been murdered in Oxfordshire.
Jayden Parkinson (17), who had moved from the area in Year 8 to live with her mum, had been last seen at Didcot Railway Station on December 3rd.
On Wednesday, a body believed to be Jayden’s was discovered in a disturbed grave at All Saints Church, in Didcot.
Now, her family and friends from East Lancashire have expressed their shock at the teenager’s death, describing her as “a kind beautiful and funny person” who “always puts others in front of herself”.
Writing on Facebook Jayden’s dad Paul, from Nelson, said: “Good night baby girl. I will miss you so much. I love you always.”
And talking to Leader Times Newspapers, school friend Laurence Ingram (17) said: “Jayden was a brilliant friend, who would go out of her way, for the people she cared about.
“She was such a close friend to many! When I needed someone to talk to, she was always there for me. I couldn’t have asked for anything more! The fond memories we all have of Jayden keep her alive in our hearts. My thoughts are with her family at this difficult time. RIP Jayden, you are in a better place now.”
Chloe Glennon (17) added: “For the short time in which I knew Jayden I could tell that she was a strong person, she always put others infront of herself and always had a smile on her face despite what was going on in her life.
“Jayden was such a kind, beautiful and funny person, we have some amazing memories together and I’ll never forget them, and I will certainly not forget her!
“I miss you Jayden, I hope you’re in a better place now and are smiling that beautiful smile down on us all! I love you angel”
And Aimee Wilson (17) said: “I’ve known Jayden since Year 7, she used to be one of my best friends and in the time I knew her, she was amazing. She was beautiful, kind-hearted and she put people before herself, it’s such a shame she’s gone and she’ll be terribly missed.”
Jayden’s ex-boyfriend Ben Blakeley, of Christchurch Road, Reading, has been charged with her murder and perverting the course of justice.
And a 17-year-old Didcot boy has also been charged with perverting the course of justice.
