Barnoldswick Christmas club attack: man in court

A court date has been set for a man charged with assaulting two people in a Barnoldswick club during the Christmas holidays.

One man was left with suspected fractures to his eyesocket and jaw, two black eyes and a chipped tooth after the incident which took place in the Conservative Club in Station Road, Barnoldswick, on Boxing Day.

A police officer suffered two broken ribs in the same incident.

Shane Edward Chew (26) has been granted bail on codition that he resides at a house in Cam Lane, Thornton-in-Craven.

He was charged with assaulting both the man and the police officer.

Chew appeared at Blackburn Magistrates Court on Saturday.

He has also been charged with resisting arrest and criminal damage.

He was bailed to appear at Burnley Crown Court next on Wednesday, January 15th.
