A number of weekly stop smoking drop-in clinics are running in Pendle for people who need help quitting smoking.
Lancashire Care NHS Foundation Trust’s Quit Squad is holding the sessions to enable people to book an appointment or simply drop in for expert help and advice.
People do not always realise the serious harm that smoking can do to their health which is why the service is offering support and information on all products available to help people through their stop smoking journey.
Julie Trezise, Quit Squad Service Manager at the trust, said: “People are four times more likely to succeed in stopping smoking with expert help and advice than if they attempt it alone.
“Our sessions are informal and tailored to the individual; people have nothing to lose by contacting us but a lot to gain.
“We’re often told by quitters that they can’t believe how quickly they started to feel the benefits to their health. We’re here to help anyone who wants to quit smoking and even if people are just considering it, we’re urging them to get in touch.”
The drop-in sessions take place every week at the following locations:
Monday: ACE Centre, Nelson (12pm), Yarnspinners Care Centre, Nelson (5pm-7pm)
Tuesday: The Muni, Colne (4pm).
Wednesday: ACE Centre, Nelson (10am), Colne Sure Start Centre (5pm-7pm).
Thursday: ACE Centre, Nelson (6pm).
A number of one-to-one clinics are also available for people who would like to book a specific appointment.
