Eighteen newly refurbished homes in Nelson could be disposed of to a housing group for affordable housing.
A report to last night’s meeting of Pendle Council’s Executive recommended the sale of the homes in Mosley Street and Macleod Street to the Great Places Housing Group for £1,565,000.
The regeneration works are part of a wider improvement scheme in the Whitefield area which has also seen the demolition of the old presbytery building at the junction of Mosley Street and Every Street along with a block of six houses.
Great Places will build a further 14 affordable homes on the site using grant money from the Homes and Communities Agency.
A report to the meeting said the sale would help bring empty properties back into use more quickly and assist with securing New Homes bonus from the Government.
