Two sizeable donations have been made to Macmillan Cancer Support.
A £1,000 cheque was made to the charity at Colne Legion Club following last year’s Colne Gala in July.
And a £500 donation was made from a charity evening organised by Diane Seed at Jaipur Restaurant.
The event was held in memory of Georgina Marshall, who died of cancer in 2012 after a short illness.
The support provided by Macmillan at the time was invaluable, and Diane, Georgina’s daughter, wanted a way to say thank you.
l Work on this year’s Colne Gala has already begun.
A date has been set for Saturday, June 21st, and the event will include a procession, entertainment and a variety of stalls.
