Thieves steal £8,000 vehicle from Higham business

Police are hunting a green Polaris all terrain vehicle worth £8,000 which was stolen from a secure farm building at Roaming Roosters in Barrowford Road, Higham. The incident took place overnight between Wednesday, January 15th and Thursday, January 16th and a pair of metal cutters were used to cut through padlocks.

n Police are seeking information after an arson in Lower School Street, Colne, at around 12-10am on Sunday. A bed mattress was propped up beside a Citroen Xsara and set on fire, in turn torching the 53-plate car valued at £2,000.

n Thieves made four unsuccessful attempts using a crowbar to break into a house in Cooper Street, Nelson, at around 8-45am on Sunday, January 5th.

n Police are looking for a white female of heavy build who attempted to shoplift nine bottles of alcohol worth £200 from the Co-op in Rainhall Road, Barnoldswick, at around 6-45pm on Tuesday, January 14th.

n A house in Hibson Road, Nelson, was ransacked during a burglary between 4-15pm and 7pm on Saturday. Police believe it was a targeted incident and the occupiers were watched leaving the property. Nothing was taken.

n Police would like to speak to a female aged around 25-years-old, with mousey brown hair and wearing a half length tan jacket who was seen taking a blue and black mountain bike from Hardy Court, Nelson, just after midnight on Thursday, January 16th. She rode off in the direction of Brunswick Street.

n Christ Church Primary School in Bent Lane, Colne, was broken into between 11pm on Wednesday, January 15th and 1-30am on Thursday, January 16th. Damage estimated at £1,000 was caused to the school and cash and cheques totalling around £700 were stolen.

n A petrol lawn mower and a petrol strimmer valued at £210 were stolen from a shed in Red Lane, Colne, between Sunday, January 12th and Tuesday, January 14th.

n Five business premises in Lenches Road, Spring Garden Road, Albert Road and Knotts Lane in Colne were targeted in a two night period. Overnight between Monday, January 13th and Tuesday, January 14th, a silver Olympus camera and a Dell Inspiron laptop were stolen from one of the Lenches Road addresses and £100 from the Knotts Lane premises. On January 14th, £70 was taken from the Albert Road venue.
