Colne late-night collision drama: man in court

A 23-year-old Earby man has been committed to Burnley Crown Court by Pennine magistrates charged with six offences arising out of an incident in Market Street, Colne, in the early hours of Saturday.

Lee Phillips, of Kenilworth Drive, is charged with driving a motor vehicle dangerously, driving a motor vehicle when his alcohol level was above the limit, obstructing or resisting a constable in the execution of their duty, aggravated vehicle taking, driving a motor vehicle other than in accordance with his licence and driving without third party involvement.

He appeared before Pennine magistrates on Monday and was committed to appear at the higher court on March 17th.

The incident took place around 1-30am on Saturday when a VW Golf GTI collided with a parked Vauxhall Vectra before colliding with a 17-year-old boy from Barrowford who suffered a suspected broken leg.

Witnesses are askeed to contact Lancashire Police on 101.
