Detectives are appealing for information after a 32-year-old man was assaulted on a night out in Colne.
The local man was punched in the face and knocked unconscious outside the Union Exchange in Market Street around 3am on Saturday, January 18th.
Fortunately, the man’s injuries turned out to be fairly minor, but he was kept in hospital overnight for observation.
DC Jon Penson said: “It was a Friday night out and there were a number of people in the area at the time in question. I would urge anybody who hasn’t already spoken to police to come forward.
“We will not tolerate this type of behaviour and we are following various lines of inquiry as we look to find the person responsible. If you have any information which you think could help us please contact us.”
A 20-year-old man from Earby has been arrested on suspicion of Section 20 wounding and has been released on bail pending further inquiries.
Anybody with any information can contact police on 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111 or on-line at Crimestoppers-uk.org.
