Earby residents have celebrated the arrival of a replacement community minibus to ferry folk around after a 14-year fund-raising effort.
Members of the Earby Community Association joined residents outside New Road Community Centre to cheer the £30,000 six-year-old Mercedes Sprinter through the gates and into the car park last Thursday.
The new vehicle, from Excel Conversions in Doncaster, has a host of additional features such as a motorised access platform at the rear and is complete with “Earby and District Community Minibus” in colourful lettering down the side panels.
It replaces the 16-seat Volkswagen purchased in 2000, which was damaged by joyriders in February last year.
