Pendle Council’s scrutiny panel will be asked to look at the controversial rebranding of the borough.
The row over the design of logos and road signs which are aimed at promoting Pendle as the place to “!ive, work and play” has been simmering for several months now.
And at Thursday’s full council meeting, Liberal Democrat councillors were once again critical of them.
Coun. Tony Greaves said they had provoked derision when they had been shonwn to people, and said that if Pendle was to be promoted, material should concentrate on things the area is known for such as Pendle Hill or the textile heritage.
“We need concensus and conciliation on this rather than one party imposing its views on us,” he said.
Other councillors pointed out that by visiting Google and entering “live, work, play”, there were countless other boroughs both in this country and overseas making the same claim about themselves.
The scrutiny panel will look at the issue after the elections in May.
