An arcade used by hundreds of people each day in Nelson has been closed to enable essential maintenance work to be carried out.
The “short cut” link through the Victory Centre linking Scotland Road and Leeds Road will be shut off for the next six or seven weeks, say signs at either end of the arcade.
A spokesman for contractors carrying out the work said the roof had been found to be leaking and there were similar problems in the flats above the arcade.
The closure has been deemed necessary on safety grounds.
