A local brass band is on the lookout for new players.
The 152-year-old Nelson Brass is holding two special open days – the first at Colne Library on Saturday, and the second at Nelson Library on Saturday, March 29th, both between 10am and 1pm.
Spokesman Mike Rourke said: “Some people think brass bands are about playing loud and marching around the streets, whereas really it is all about live music making and entertainment.
“Nelson Brass is about playing music from pop to the classics and having fun doing so.
“We know that there will be people in Pendle, who have played in the past or would like to learn to play music. So don’t be shy and give it a try.”
The band rehearses on Mondays between 8pm and 10pm at Calder Mill, Lenches Road, Colne (opposite the Admiral Lord Rodney) and can be contacted by email at nelsonbrass1862@gmail.com or by ringing Jo Harrison on 797140.
