A grateful mum has thanked a Colne nursery for raising money for her little boy who has cerebral palsy.
Natasha Whiteley (26), of Skipton Road, has been left overwhelmed by the support shown to her son Oscar by Toddle In Nursery.
Staff and pupils at the North Valley Road site raised £50 over the Christmas period, having heard about Oscar’s story from his cousin and Toddle In pupil Harley. The funds will now go towards buying the six-month-old tot, who is a fan of CBeebies, sensory equipment. Natasha, who is currently on maternity leave, said: “It is amazing that they have done this - I couldn’t believe it. You don’t realise until something happens to you just how much people are behind you. The bubble lamp we are getting him is soothing for him as well as stimulating.”
Oscar contracted cerebral palsy, a condition affecting the brain’s ability to direct motor functions in the body, after suffering from oxygen deprivation during Natasha’s labour. But despite also having epilepsy and difficulties eating, the tot is still managing to get across his personality, and has shown a love for bright colours.
