A day service for people with disabilities has reopened in Nelson after a £150,000 investment by Lancashire County Council.

The refurbished Marsden Resource Centre in Rigby Street will support young people with learning and physical disabilities. The centre has been renovated in response to growing demand as more local disabled people are opting to use county council services.

County Coun. Tony Martin, cabinet member for adult and community services said: “We’re pleased to be able to open this centre. We’ve completely redecorated the building, including new floor coverings and ceiling tiles, and installed new bathrooms and kitchens, together with improving access. This means young people with learning difficulties, especially those with more complex needs, will receive high-quality help and support, together with good access to other resources within their community.”
