There has been a drop in the number of unemployed claimants in Pendle.
Figures released by the Government show that the figure was 1,499% a rate of 3.6% of the economically active population aged 16 to 64.
The number of claimants is 485 lower than in March, 2013 and 79 lower than in February this year.
Pendle MP Andrew Stephenson said: “The latest fall in unemployment in Pendle adds to the other positive news we are seeing, with inflation falling and wages rising.
“My recent Jobs Fair saw a number of local businesses looking for new starters and apprentices and we are seeing government grants going to local employers like NR Automatics in Colne and Mackintosh in Nelson. There is still a lot more to do to help people back into work, but this is great news for families across Pendle.”
