Barnoldswick was full of patriotism and produce on Saturday as the town celebrated St George’s Day with a fun agenda of activities and a food festival.

The sun broke through on cue almost as soon as Barnoldswick Town Crier Eliza Mawe opened the event alongside Chairman of Barnoldswick Town Council, Coun. Ken Hartley.

In the Town Square, the Saturday market was held while Indiependence and friends performed music throughout the afternoon and the Border Harmony Choir sang on stage too.

There was the chance to take part in zumba, dance and martial arts, all the emergency services were there as children had the chance to sit in their favourite vehicle, and folk came face to face with snakes, lizards and birds of prey.

Meanwhile, the food festival in the Rainhall Centre proved a tasty proposition with a range of cuisine demonstrations from curry to pizza as well as cake competitions.
