A close-knit group of Colne colleagues are getting ready for their craziest and most colourful day of the year.

Staff from Innisfree Child Care, in Langroyd Road, have pulled together to take part in the The Color Run 5K challenge at Manchester’s Etihad Campus on Saturday, July 5th.

The 11-strong team want to raise funds for Pendleside Hospice, as well as continue their keep-fit regime.

Together, they have been working to lose weight, with early years practitioner Tara Day managing to lose an incredible 4.5st. in just 12 months.

Manager Michelle Duckett (42), who has worked at Innisfree for nearly 10 years, said: “Everyone is really buzzing about it, and we are all getting fitter.

“The atmosphere is going to be amazing - every 1K we are going to have a colour powder thrown at us.

“Pendleside Hospice has touched a lot of people in some way or another, either closely or through somebody else.”

And Leah Mitchell, fundraiser for Pendleside Hospice, said; “Thank you very much to all the ladies from Innisfree who I know are all busy training for the run and are working hard to raise funds for the hospice, their support is much appreciated.

“We would like to encourage anybody else who may

be interested in signing up

to the Manchester Colour

Run to support the hospice and to contact the fundraising team for a sponsor pack on 440120.”

The team are aiming to raise £1,000. To help them visit www.justgiving.com/innisfreechildcare
