When a team was pulling a big barge all the way along the Leeds and Liverpool Canal to boost a charity, they were welcomed to Pendle by the borough’s Mayor.
Coun. Smith Benson went along to Barrowford Locks to meet them as they arrived there on their long journey. They were a little later than planned, but he was pleased to welcome them.
The Barge Pull Charity Event was established to raise money for the Roy Castle Lung Cancer Foundation.
The Mayor of Pendle met the participants: Dave Jafrate, Emma Fisher, Gavin Fisher, Aaron Dempsey, Mark Parkinson, Steve Little, Paul Tilley, Dan Chapman, Steve Atkinson, Ady Thorne, Dan McCormack, Richard Wray, Mark Watson and Jessica Grunewald.
