On Sunday, 28 friends will run the Manchester 10k in memory of Peter Dutton who died in March with a lung tumour.
What started out as a couple of friends running the Great Manchester 10k for Pendleside Hospice has turned into a 28-strong team.
Mark Dutton and two friends originally set out to run to raise money for Pendleside after his father was cared for and died there.
Mark said: “The passing of my father was a difficult time, but the friends and family I have round me, especially in helping with this great cause, has been absolutely fantastic.
“I couldn’t ask for a better group to be running with.”
The group have already raised £500 online, and have various other amounts from other sponsors.
The team hopes to raise up to £2,000 for the hospice by the time of the run.
