A big police search – including a helicopter – took place on the border of Colne and Nelson yesterday evening (Wednesday).
It involved a man suspected to have been involved in an aggravated burglary in Rossendale Road, Burnley, in March.
A police spokesman said: “An off-duty police officer spotted a chap in a car in Knotts Lane, Colne, who was wanted for suspicion of the burglary.”
A 23-year-old man was arrested after the search. The police helicopter started around the Knotts Lane area before 10pm but then moved towards the Nelson/Colne boundary in Burnley Road. Around a dozen police vehicles were also searching the area.
