Colne business disruption after unit break-ins

A number of business premises in Colne were left without power on Monday morning after a three unit break-in led to flooding.

Copper piping worth £1,000 was stolen from the kitchen area of a unit at Spring Gardens Mill, Colne, overnight between Sunday and Monday, which led to the substation in the cellar flooding.

Electricity North West had to be called out and power was off from 9-15am until 4-15pm while repairs were carried out.

Power tools worth £4,470 were stolen from another unit in Spring Gardens Mill. These included a £1,000 Honda pressure washer in yellow and white, a red hydraulic breaker worth £2,000, a red jack hammer gun valued at £500, a £600 red snap-on buzz gun and a red Hilty drill worth £400.

Tools worth £600 were also stolen from third unit and police are appealing for anybody with information to call 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.
