Trawden mum makes splash for charity

A mother-of-two went the extra length to raise money for a worthwhile cause.

Keeley Turner, who lives in Trawden, but works as a scheme co-ordinator for Home Start Burnley and Hyndburn, recently completed the Great North Swim at Lake Windermere. This was a personal challenge for the 37-year-old, but one she undertook to raise funds for Home Start and an opportunity to promote the unique service that the organisation provides for families in Burnley and Hyndburn. Home Start supports families to become more resilient, helping them to deal with whatever life throws at them and provides a stable, stimulating and loving environment for their children to grow up in. Keeley said: “It was beautiful weather on the day of the swim and I had a very good time. This challenge was a personal achievement for me and also a good opportunity to raise awareness for a deserving cause.”
