The latest report from contractors working on a new build housing scheme on the site of the former presbytery in Macleod Street, Nelson, shows work is on target to meet a completion date of the end of October.
Members of Pendle Council’s Executive were given the news at their last meeting.
However, in a report to members, they were also told that the refurbishment of 18 houses in Macleod Street and Mosley Street is currently eight weeks behind schedule from the original completion date of January next year.
“This is due to the poor condition of the houses on Mosley Street which have required substantial structural internal steel bracing work, thereby putting the contractor behind programme on the block.
“Once this steel work is complete and the scaffolding is removed, the contractor has reported that they will be in a better position to explore and confirm how the remaining refurbishment works can be accelerated and a reassessment of their anticipated completion date will then be made,” said a report from economic and housing regeneration manager Julie Palmer.
