A fund-raiser packed with activities for all the family is set to take place in memory of a much-loved Colne teenager.
The event at the Union Exchange, in Market Street, will be held on Sunday, August 31st, from 2pm to 12-30am, to raise money for the James Goodship Memorial Fund.
James (17) drowned in June, after getting into difficulty with friends at Lake Burwain.
Since his death, the community has rallied around to raise money in his name. and now Union Exchange landlady Maggie Owens and Jenni-Rae Hollins are the latest to join the venture.
It is hoped funds raised will be put towards a memorial garden and life-preservers to put around Lake Burwain.
Among activities on offer will be an auction, a money tree, a barbecue, a raffle, bands, and a tombola.
There will also be face painting, a head shave, and a bouncy castle. Donations can be made on the door.
James’ mum Mel said: “It is fantastic this is happening. Colne has come together throughout it all.
“It should be a good day, and I will definitely be there.”
