Thousands of pounds worth of items, including two road bikes and a mountain bike, have been stolen from a Colne outhouse.
And now victim of the theft Rachel Holt is appealing for more information following the incident in Skipton Road, which happened overnight between Tuesday and Wednesday.
Mrs Holt’s husband John had gone to bed at about 11pm on Tuesday, but when he woke up for work on Wednesday morning he noticed that his back gate and outhouse door had been left wide open.
Upon further inspection it was discovered that items, including a silver and blue Giant Avail XXS ladies’ road bike, a black and red Allez men’s road bike, a dark blue and black Scott Aspect 930 mountain bike, and a toolbox, had been taken.
Mrs Holt (41), a civil servant and mum-of-two said: “I am quite calm about it really, but it is maddening because there was £2,000 of stuff there. Whoever has done this will get pittance for it, if they even manage to sell it.
“You are also left scared that they are going to come back.
“Everybody has been sharing it on Facebook, and the support we have had from friends has been absolutely brilliant.
“If anyone has any information let us know or ring the police.”
Mrs Holt has also described the theft as an “inconvenience” since her husband used his mountain bike to travel to work. He is also due to take part in the Coast to Coast challenge, organised by Pendle Leisure Trust, and may now need to borrow a bike to take part.
Police confirmed that they were informed of the incident at 6-20am on Wednesday morning.
A spokesman said: “We are appealing for information. If anybody saw anybody acting suspiciously in the area at that time then call us on 101, quoting log number 134 of August 20th.”
