Pendle MP Andrew Stephenson and Barrowford borough councillor Tony Beckett have welcomed news from the Royal Mail that a post box on Gisburn Road, Higherford, will be replaced.
The old box had been missing after BT removed the telegraph pole it was attached to, without putting out a notice to local residents.
The MP contacted Royal Mail which has assured that a replacement is on its way and that they are now looking for a new site nearby.
Mr Stephenson said: “Local residents got in touch worried about the missing box and to complain about the inconvenience. I welcome the swift response from the Royal Mail who have committed to sorting the problem out.”
Until the new box arrives, the nearest alternative is on Stone Edge Road, Higherford.
