Sentencing of a man convicted of shooting a police officer from Pendle on his doorstep has been rescheduled for December.
Schizophrenic James Leslie (38) shot PC Suzanne Hudson, who was born and brought up in Nelson and attended Mansfield High School, Brierfield, through his front door as she and PC Richard Whiteley made routine inquiries in Leeds last December.
She needed emergency surgery on arteries in her neck and her right hand was badly damaged by shotgun pellets.
Leslie, of Cardigan Road, Headingley, was convicted of attempted murder following a trial at Leeds Crown Court in July.
After his conviction, a sentence date was set for Friday and later taken out of the court lists.
Leslie was not present when a hearing was held at Leeds Crown Court to fix a new sentence date.
The court heard more time is needed to prepare psychiatric reports.
Leslie is now due to be sentenced at Leeds Crown Court on December 18th.
