Pendle Council’s finances have been given a clean bill of health.
Independent external auditors Grant Thornton (UK) praised the council for giving good value for money.
The report covers the financial year from April 1st, 2013 to March 31st, 2014.
Coun. Tommy Cooney, who leads the council on finance, said: “It’s great to be officially recognised for managing our money well.
“I’m pleased that despite the difficult economic climate, we’re still providing good value for money to our residents.
“The auditors have described the way we’ve managed our money as efficient, effective and economic.
“These are tough times as we balance the budget each year with less resources, but I’m happy the auditors acknowledge that we do a good job.”
