Singing star Siobhan Masih is celebrating her success after a stunning performance saw her fly through Open Mic UK’s regional finals.
The Pendle performer (24) left the crowds dazzled with her rendition of Jessica Rabbit’s “Why Don’t You Do Right” - securing herself a spot in the area finals of the popular competition.
She will take to the stage in Manchester again on November 16th.
Siobhan is hoping an Ariana Grande piece will help her win a place in the national finals.
The former Colne Primet High School student, of Reedyford Road, Nelson, said: “I was actually pretty calm during the regionals because of all the people there.
“We had sound checks first, and then performed to over 200 people.
“I could hear my family and friends in the audience, but it was good because I couldn’t see many people with it being dark in the audience and bright on the stage.
“I am really excited for the next stage - I feel proud and overwhelmed.”
If successful in the next round of the contest, Siobhan, who works at Farmfoods in Colne, and who has recently appeared on Channel 4’s The Singer Takes It All, will be battling it out to win £5,000 to spend on pursuing her career in music.
Open Mic UK is the biggest search for unsigned talent in the UK, and is run by Future Music - the company behind the discovery of artists such as Birdy, Luke Friend and Lucy Spraggan.
