Remembrance Sunday commemorations in Nelson next month will see more than the usual laying of wreaths as a tribute to the fallen.
The memorial will be rededicated as 12 names have been added to it.
And because of the First World War centenary commemoratons, a detachment form the Duke of Lancaster’s regiment will be in attendance.
The names include that of Lance Cpl Michael Foley, who was killed while on duty in Afghanistan several years ago.
Nelson and District Royal British Legion is asking relatives of the new names on the memorial to contact Michael Sutcliff on 618751 in order that any necessary arrangements can be made for people to attend.
The other 11 names are: First World War: Clemintina Addison (French Flag Nursing Corp). W.H. Robinson (Army Service Corp), A.C. Hudson (Manchester Regiment). H. Farrow (Lancashire Fusiliers) and H. Kirkbright (Scots Guards).
Second World War: W.H.Barton (The Queens Royal West Surrey Regiment), G.B. Roberts (Black Watch, Royal Highland Regiment), S. Brown (Royal Artillery).
