The number of unemployed claimants in Pendle continues to fall.
Figures released on Wednesday show the number of claimants in September was 1,139.
This represents a rate of 2.8% of the economically active population aged 16 to 64 and is 604 lower than in September, 2013 and 47 lower than in August, 2014.
Pendle MP Andrew Stephenson said: “It’s great to see another fall in unemployment in Pendle and a record number of vacancies advertised.
“I have recently been to see how Colne Asda is working with Job Centre Plus to help people back into work. “More jobs mean more people with security of a pay packet able to provide for their families and plan for the future.
“This is encouraging news, but more still needs to be done.”
