Plans to secure the future of Barrowford Show are under discussion at the moment.
The show has not taken place for the last two years.
Although it did appear at Barrowford Park in 2012, it didn’t take place in 2013.
A show ahd been planned for this year, but did not actually happen.
Barrowford Show Committee held a meeting last week when the future of the show was discussed.
A committee spokesman said: “The local people of Barrowford will have noticed that for the last two years there has been no traditional-style show – instead we have had to resort to other types of event in order to raise funds.
“Two years ago we held ‘Pendle Power Fest’ at Nelson and Colne College. On this occasion we had a great day. It was warm and dry, we had plenty of exhibitors of transport of all descriptions – cars, motor bikes, wagons and also stalls of all descriptions.
“To say the event was held at short notice it was well supported and did boost our bank balance, but that was still insufficient to stage a traditional style show.
“This last year we again staged ‘Pendle Power Fest’ but this time the only venue we could find was UCLAN at Burnley.”
And he added: “We did have more time to plan the event but the day before staging the council revoked our music licence – so no music.
“Also, the day turned out to be horrendous – rain and wind – which obviously could not be planned for, so the event was called off by early afternoon and barely broke even.”
The committee is holding an open meeting at Holmefield House, Barrowford, at 7-30pm on Thursday and the public are invited to go along and discuss how they would like to see a future show staged. The spokesman said: “We want to know if people want a similar format or something totally different?”
