Aprons are on, the scales are out and cook books are being dusted off in preparation for the Barnoldswick Bake Off.
The Bake Off will take place on Saturday, November 1st between noon and 6pm at Rolls-Royce Leisure Club and hopes are raised after the sweet success of last year’s delicious debut.
In 2013, flour power saw more than 100 cakes entered into the competition helping to raise £3,400.
The money was then cut two ways, some going towards gifts for children in the Manchester Children’s Hospital while Barnoldswick’s Operation Oliver fund also saw a slice of the proceeds.
This year, alongside the main Bake Off presentation at 2pm, a children’s Hallowe’en disco and fancy dress competition will be held between noon and 2pm as well as music from several live bands later in the afternoon.
Organiser Katie McQuade-Collins said: “We’re setting up the Barnoldswick Angels Children’s Charity and all money raised on the day will go to this to help poorly or disabled children in the Barnoldswick and West Craven area in whatever way we can.”
On the day, the top Bake Off prizes are meals at the Alma Inn, Tempest Arms or Mario’s Restaurant and there will be prizes for the best kids fancy dress outfits.
People can get Bake Off entry forms from Elegant Nails and Hair or Heavenly Scents Candles in Barnoldswick. For more information, call 817744.
Disco tickets range from £1 to £5. To enter a cake into the Bake Off is £2.
