FIREFIGHTERS from Colne cleaned lots of cars to raise cash for both their own Fire Fighters Charity and Colne youngster Louie Jenkins.
Louie, who is two, lost his legs and some fingers after suffering meningitis. And Louie and his mum Julie joined them in the fund-raising effort.
The car wash took place at Asda Colne, and quite a lot of people took their cars along to be brightened up by the hard-working team.
It raised around £300 to be split between Louie’s needs and the firefighters’ own charity.
A spokesman for the crew said: “We were pleased with the result - the support of the public has been great. It was excellent. ”
And Julie added: “The car wash went really well and the money will go towards getting Louie some state-of-the-art Prosthetics when he may want them for sports. At the moment we are looking into swimming lessons with a specially trained instructor to help with Louie’s physio, so the money will help to go towards that as well.”
