Kelbrook folk are all smiles after the completion of improvement work at a vital village facility.
The latest phase of work is finished at Kelbrook and Sough Village Hall and this includes the fitting of a brand new kitchen and boiler.
As well as that, the roof was redrawn, windows were replaced, a small storage area was created and the room was redecorated.
This was the latest phase of the village hall’s refurbishment, which has been ongoing since the car park was improved in the middle of the last decade.
It has cost in excess of £7,000 and villagers are delighted with the results and have a hall to be proud of at the heart of the community.
Village Hall Committee Secretary, Mary Miller, said: “It’s been quite a big job. It was 2006 when I started, that was the annexe, and since then we have been trying to get it up to a nice standard.
“There are just bits to finish now. We might look to do the main hall floor and main hall roof in the future but they are fine at the moment. They are the only areas that we haven’t modernised.
“The work now means that as well as being a small kitchen area, it’s an extra little space where you can have one-to-one consultations or small meetings for those who might want something private.
“It’s trying to make it multi-purpose for as many different types of group and age groups as possible.
