Plans for a major housing development on the former site of Pendle Council’s parks department depot go before councillors on Monday night.
The application is to demolish a barn and greenhouses in Marsden Park, Nelson, carry out alterations to Marsden Park Cottage and Farm Cottage and build eight new detached homes.
The land has no allocated purpose in the Pendle Local Plan.
In a report to the council’s Nelson Committee, planning officers say while the application is acceptable in terms of highway safety, it should be refused as it fails to demonstrate that the potential impact on residential amenity and the setting of listed buildings on the site is acceptable.
They also say that the proposed layout, design and materials are not appropriate in a sensitive location.
