PENDLE Council will maintain its refuse and recycling service over the festive period.
Council crews will be working hard to ensure all homes have their refuse and recycling collected.
Collections will be as normal on Christmas Eve and New Year’s Eve. Just those areas who usually have a collection on a Tuesday or Wednesday will find that their collections will be on a different day to normal.
This affects part of Barnoldswick, Kelbrook, Sough, Foulridge, part of Brierfield (Kings Causeway/Walverden Road areas) and part of Nelson (Railway Street/Beaufort Street/Causey Foot/Kelswick Drive areas).
Their regular Tuesday collection will be done on Thursday, December 27th and Wednesday, January 2nd.
Homes in Trawden, Laneshaw Bridge, part of Colne (Skipton Road/Castle Road/Red Lane areas), Barrowford, Higherford, Blacko and the Walverden Park area of Nelson will have their regular Wednesday collections on Friday, December 28th.
Garden waste collections are suspended for two weeks and will start again from Monday, January 7th, when the council will also be collecting Christmas trees from across the whole borough.
If households have any wrapping paper, greetings cards or envelopes to get rid of over the festive season, they can put them in the green recycling boxes, or an empty cardboard box.
If anyone has mislaid their annual recycling calendar, they can download another from the recycling pages of the Pendle Council website, or they can request another by calling 661743.
