CLARETS stars believe the Pennine Lancashire 10K can be massive for Burnley.
Hotshot midfielder Marvin Bartley and his Burnley teammates are backing the road race which hopes to raise £100,000 for local charities.
Burnley boss Sean Dyche has already said a huge buzz has been created by the 10k run.
But Bartley believes it could be big news for the town as organisers look to attract more than 2,000 runners.
He said: “Everyone at the club is getting involved. The lads have backed it and it’s for a good cause.
“It’s good to help with the local community and for the club to get involved.
He said his Clarets teammates were looking to raise the profile of the event and believes it will be a great event for the town.
“I think it is massive. Fitness is good for everyone to be doing it and obviously doing stuff for charity is brilliant.”
Young Clarets starlet Charlie Holt added that he hopes the race would encourage people to get fit and raise money for charity.
The race will take place on Sunday, June 2nd as is being organised by Jane Tomlinson’s Run For All.
Hopes are that thousands of people will turn out for the run which will take in the best of Burnley including Towneley Hall, Rowley lake, Thompson Park and Turf Moor.
