Tandem girls to host charity night in Laneshaw Bridge

Two Pendle girls are preparing to put a spin on a traditional race night — to help boost their fund-raising efforts.

Best friends Amy Greenall and Emily Mitchell, both 25, are currently in training for a 127-mile tandem cycle ride in July.

The girls, who are being sponsored by Wicked Cycles, in Colne, wanted to give something back to Leeds Teaching Hospitals Charitable Foundation after Amy’s dad John was treated there.

John died suddenly in November after a large cancerous growth was found on his kidney.

To help reach their £5,000 target, Amy, from Colne, and Emily, from Salterforth, are now hosting a cycle-themed race night at The Alma Inn on Saturday, May 18th at 7pm.

Horses will become tandems, and jumps will turn into bridges at the event, which includes a Gary Barlow tribute act. Visit www.justgiving.com/2girlsonatandem.
