The M65 had to be closed in both directions at Nelson for a short time this morning after a man threatened to jump from a footbridge.
Police were called to Junction 13 at Reedyford around 2-20am and closed off the road and slip roads while they spoke to the man as he stood on the parapet over the carriageway.
After around 15 minutes, the man was brought down from the scene and taken to hospital for assessment and the motorway was reopened.
The footbridge is the same one where a Barrowford woman fell to her death in November last year.
