Lesley takes lead again in ‘Hello Dolly’

Leading lady Lesley Haworth is reprising her role as Dolly Levi in a new production of “Hello Dolly”, two years after she played it at Clitheroe.

Lesley takes the lead role, made famous by Barbra Streisand in the movie version, in Pendle Hippodrome Theatre Company’s production of the musical at the Hippodrome, Colne, next week.

She plays a livewire New York widow who arranges marriage matches and sets her own sights on a “half-millionaire.”

Lesley said: “Dolly is my favourite role. I enjoyed it so much at Clitheroe and got such a wonderful reception that I couldn’t resist auditioning for the part again. Much to my amazement, I got it.”

Some of Lesley’s friends from Clitheroe Parish Church AODS are making the trip to Colne for the show, which runs from Tuesday to Saturday, March 18th to 22nd, at 7-30pm.

There is also a 2pm Saturday matinee.

Tickets are £12 adults, £10 concessions and £8 under 19, on sale at Discover Pendle shop, Boundary Mill Stores, Colne (01282 856186) online at {http://www.phtheatre.co.uk|www.phtheatre.co.uk} or from the booking secretary on 01282 612402 evenings.

The Hippodrome is in New Market Street, next to Colne Town Hall.
