A teenager was kicked and punched to the ground before being robbed in Nelson.
The 16-year-old was was walking along Brunswick Street in the town at about 7-15pm on Saturday and was near the junction of Cloverhill Road when he was approached by a group.
The gang stole his mobile phone, a Blackberry worth £150, and made off leaving the youth with facial injuries.
Now police are appealing for information and have released descriptions of members of the group.
The offenders are described as Asian males. One was 5ft. 10in. tall, 18 years old, of average build, with dark skin colour and stubble. He was wearing dark clothing and black Cryuff type trainers.
Another was aged in his late teens, was very tall amd lanky, and was wearing a white hoody and dark pants. The other two were 6ft. tall, and were also wearing dark clothing.
Det. Sgt Alisa Wilson, of East CID, said: “Thankfully things like this remain relatively rare but we are treating it very seriously.
“I would appeal for anyone who knows who these offenders may be to get in touch with the police. I believe the robbery was witnessed by two men in a car in the area and I would appeal for them to come forward.”
