A planning application for a major housing development in Barnoldswick has been submitted to Pendle Council.
Wetherby based company Stirling Investment Properties LLP is behind the plans for 29 new homes to built off Long Ing Lane.
According to the summary of the plans, the development on the 0.98 hectare site would be a mixture of two, three and four bedroom houses over two or three floors.
A summary report as part of the application states that after pre-application discussions with Pendle Council’s Planning Manager Neil Watson, the council is “supportive of the principle of a scheme” as the council has “an acute housing shortage”.
The report also suggests the site is in a “highly sustainable location” and the development would be at “a density in keeping with the surrounding area” close to Barnoldswick town centre and its shops and facilities. It adds the location is well served by public transport and would meet Pendle’s need for housing.
If approved, the report states the project could be delivered within five years.
The application is set to be decided upon by Pendle Council’s West Craven Committee at a future date.
