A feast of singing, dancing, piano playing and speaking was enjoyed by an 80-strong audience.
“Young Stars on Sunday” was held at St John’s Methodist Church, in Colne, in a bid to showcase some of Pendle’s most talented young people.
The performers had all seen success at Colne Luther Greenwood Memorial Festival, but the informal event gave them the chance to take to the stage without the pressure of competing.
Pendle MP Andrew Stephenson and the Deputy Mayor and Mayoress of Pendle, Coun Graham Roach and Mrs Joanna Sagar, were among those in attendance.
Pendle Youth Choir and Pendle Children’s Choir, with singers ranging from six to 19, opened and closed the show and provided solo singers.
Dancers Emilie Chadwick and Grace Hall, from the Colne’s Encore School of Dancing, charmed the audience with ballet and tap routines, and piano-playing talent was displayed by Lance Angelo Domingo, Danyana Driver and Scarlett Hale.
Speech and drama winners Emily Berry and Ross Entwistle gave a selection of humorous and thought-provoking poems and prose.
Festival committee chairman Eric Beardsworth said: “It was a bigger success than we hoped for.
“We sold tickets in advance, but lots of people turned up to pay on the door. Any more and we’d have had to turn people away.
“We were very pleased and proud of how our young people performed.”
