A Colne man found dead at his flat on Christmas Day last year died from natural causes, an inquest has concluded.
The hearing at Burnley Coroner’s Court heard that Lance Mandeena (38), of Portland Street, had led a perfectly normal life and had been seen by one of his sisters on the evening of December 23rd, when he handed over presents he had bought for family members.
He was due to meet them on Christmas Day but when he did not answer his phone, his father went to his flat and discovered his body on the bed.
A post mortem carried out by pathologist Dr Walid Salman had not been able to establish a cause of death, although there had been some fatty degeneration of cells in Mr Mandeena’s liver.
“There could be many reasons for that and it is nothing unusual,” said Dr Salman.
Assistant East Lancashire Croroner Mr Mark Williams said in reaching his conclusion: “We may never know the precise reason why Mr Mandeena died but it was natural.”
