Sentimental items belonging to a pensioner’s late wife have been stolen from a Colne house.
Thieves made their way into the property in Birtwistle Avenue between 5pm and 6pm last Monday.
The victim, a 72-year-old man, was outside in his garden at the time of the incident. He went back inside his home just after 6pm to discover that jewellery and watches, some of which belonged to his late wife, had been taken.
PC Lee Forshaw said: “This is a despicable offence against an elderly man who was simply tending to his garden.
