A wheelie bin which had been left out for collection was destroyed by a fire.
It happened on Friday just after 3-30pm and firefighters from Nelson Fire Station went out to deal with it.
The incident was by Regent Street and Derby Street, Nelson. The fire crew used a hose reel jet to extinguish the fire.
Crew Manager Nigel Greenwood from Nelson Fire Station said: “Deliberate fires can cost lives. These types of incidents can also spread and develop into more significant incidents, which can cause damage to property.
“We would ask that, as the summer holidays start, parents are aware of what their children are doing and the potential consequences of deliberate fires.”
And he added: “If you suspect any deliberate fires please call Crime-Stoppers anonymously on 0800555111.”
So the fire service want parents to make sure children don’t cause fires around here in Pendle.
