Major road works lasting for about six weeks are set to commence in the centre of Barrowford on Monday.
The works, which involve a new mini-roundabout, puffin crossing and road hump together with amendments to an existing zebra crossing and bus stops near the junction of Gisburn Road and Halstead Lane, are required as part of the planning permission granted for the construction of the Booths supermarket which is currently under way.
It is expected that the scheme will lead to traffic congestion at times and drivers are advised to allow extra time for their journeys.
Temporary traffic lights will be in place while the work is carried out and Lancashire County Council said this week the work would be restricted to between 7am and 5pm Mondays to Fridays, although some works might need to be done outside of these times.
